THis question is very hotly contested, and is not a simple question at all.
Studies of identical twins raised apart are the gold standard for this question.
Intelligence, or at least what intelligence tests measure, seems to be about 50/50 environment and heredity. Many personality aspects seem to be genetic.
But the newer paradigm involves how genes interact with the environment; nature vs nurture is old hat.
